The Kathmandu Valley is city of multiple cultures and foods. The three major districts in the Valley are Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. It is said that every other building is a temple and every other day is festival. Nepalese are said to observe more festivals than there are days in year. Some of the different cultures in Nepal are Newar, Chhetri, Bramhan, Rai, Limbu, Sherpa, among many othrs. The Kathmandu Valley has a large population of Newar. The Newar people have more feasts and festival to celebrate than many other groups. There is slogan saying that “Newar bigriyo bhojle, Parbate bigriyo mojle” meaning Newar’s are always busy in feast and festival, Parbate’s are always partying. In the Kathmandu Valley, people usually go to temple early in the morning and then come back to home drink a cup of delicious chiya made by mother with lots love, before making plans for rest of the day.
